The Communication Coordinator supports the agency mission of providing hope and healing to those impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault by executing a communications/PR/media strategy, creating promotional materials which support agency events and corporate relations, building relationships with local/regional media, and assisting with all fundraising events.

This is a part-time, 20 hour per week position that will likely become full-time July 1, 2019. 



  • Create and revise Safe Alliance collateral materials to meet goals and deadlines established by agency leadership. Ensure consistency in agency branding.
  • Develop strong marketing plans and promotional materials which support agency events and corporate relations including (but not limited to) e-newsletters and annual report.
  • Develop and execute new partnerships with individuals and organizations in the community.


  • Manage and execute agency initiatives via traditional communication channels as well as harnessing and energizing focused/targeted social media platforms.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local/regional media and serve as the portal for media requests and information by coordinating with subject matter experts.
  • Support Safe Alliance's advancement initiatives and fundraising events by creating invitations, programs, graphics, PowerPoint presentations and updating websites to drive revenue goals. 
  • Support agency mission by participating in agency and community meetings and committees as requested by supervisor.
  • Promotes and maintains professional relationships with agency staff, volunteers, and community partners.



  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related degree from an accredited college or university.  
  • Three or more year's work experience in the field of communications, public relations, or advertising.
  • Experience with graphic design a plus.
  • Graphic design as well as excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
