Job Objective: To support and/or guide community engagement efforts including; developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, coordinating and overseeing volunteer activities, supporting and implementing related communication efforts and serving as an outreach lead for external opportunities and events.



  • Develop and manage partnerships with key stakeholders including but not limited to, churches, corporations, community organizations and volunteers
  • Recruit volunteers for activities and events at Elizabeth House, Hawthorne Place and Plaza Place
  • Oversee scheduling of individual volunteers and volunteer groups in coordination with Volunteer Manager, Shelter Operations Team and Partnership Coordinator
  • Recruit volunteers for shelters
  • Coordinate, train and recruit Hope Teams, in conjunction with Hope Team Managers
  • Assist with coordination of volunteers for CFH special events
  • Attend meetings and manage opportunities for Community Matters involvement
  • Attend and market CFH at agency fairs and serve as a representative at various external events
  • Develop relationships with external partners who designate event proceeds to nonprofit agencies.
  • Help lead shelter tours
  • Plan and implement volunteer recognition programs and events. Provide support for Development Team events.
  • Manage a portfolio of development accounts based on assigned relationships
  • Supervise the Volunteer Manager and agency interns
  • Abide by agency confidentiality policy
  • Other duties as assigned 


  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional planning, organization and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, familiarity with Raiser's Edge is a plus
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain positive and productive working relationships with families, volunteers, co-workers, and with representatives of other agencies and programs
  • Flexibility and strong servant leadership as exemplified by the following: personal humility and integrity, ambition for the organization's well-being, personal accountability for organizational results                                                                                                                                                                                 


  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Public Relations or related field and
  • One year of related experience
  • Reliable/dependable transportation; must have valid driver's license and insured transportation
